The vision of In Nature Education is to foster the child’s lifelong connection to the natural world and themselves. We strongly believe that free-play is essential for mental, physical and emotional health, wellbeing and development. We want to promote independence, confidence, resilience, self-awareness and respect for our whenua as well as for ourselves and others by learning and playing in nature. This can be achieved through bushcraft, environmental conservation, climbing trees, building huts, scrambling hills, looking for bugs, and letting the children decide where to engage and when.
Nature Nurture NZ is the trust that runs In Nature Education. We have long term goals to run several different programmes suited to differing people, of different ages and abilities, however to begin we are starting with holiday programmes and Monday and Tuesday Nature Days run for 5-13 year olds. Our programmes are run out of Riverside Communities Peace Forest, the Atamai Village orchard and different locations throughout the Motueka area.
We have a passion for child lead play and learning. Our aim is to provide a safe space for tamariki to be themselves, gain confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing. We will be exploring our local whenua, playing games, creating, connecting, learning and following whatever interests come our way.
