Waimarama Community Gardens was established by volunteers 25 years ago and many hours have been donated over the years to create this lovely space. Volunteers are responsible for the managing and day-to-day running of the Gardens, either as Trustees or as gardeners. We invite you to wander around the Gardens to discover what is being done.
Seedlings and produce are available from time to time (donations welcome), usually around Spring and Summer.
Community gardening is a leisure activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Your involvement would be very welcome. Waimarama Community Gardens is a great place for locals (and visitors) to meet, socialise and share their knowledge.
Come and join in most Wednesday mornings 9.30am to 12noon (weather permitting) also Sunday afternoons 2pm to 4pm Winter and 3pm to 5pm Summer.
Plots are also available if you’d like to grow some of your own vegs/flowers at a very reasonable rate.
