Saxton Stadium is located on the northern side of Saxton Field sport and recreation park and provides a base for a wide variety of regional sporting organisations.

The Stadium contains a gym and is the home of numerous indoor sports including futsal, handball, basketball, netball, table tennis and volleyball. 

Just a nine-minute drive from Nelson Airport, Saxton Stadium is the foremost indoor sporting facility for the Nelson Tasman region. It was purpose-built to be as environmentally friendly as possible and can accommodate large-scale sporting and special events.  

The main sports hall is 7,000m2 with sprung wooden floors and offers optimal flexibility for national tournaments.  It can be adapted according to the scale of the sporting activity and has permanent markings for five international sized netball courts, five basketball courts and 12 volleyball courts.  It can be taped by arrangement. 

Saxton Stadium also houses a separate purpose-built table tennis arena, training gym and adjoining social rooms overlooking the outdoor netball court.
