Part of this building was originally used as accommodation for WWII airmen and later used for guests at the Tahuna Beach Motor Camp. The Jaycees was a community service and training organisation for 18-40 year-olds. The JC stands for Junior Chamber (of Commerce) and the (then) large Nelson Jaycee branch met in these buildings during the 1980s before they were gifted to Founders in 1992.
A more intimate venue, the Jaycee Room is an adaptable space available for smaller events, family celebrations, small weddings, or meetings. Fully carpeted with a built-in wooden dance floor and great indoor-outdoor flow onto the patio area and Village Green, the Jaycee Room features a new 1950s-style kitchen and refurbished bathrooms. Tables and chairs are available and it is situated close to the playground for younger members of any group. For those not wanting to use the kitchen, the on-site café will deliver catering.
